Bioinformatics for Dummies

Its all coming back to me. This is the horror. Ashamed to say but I had to retake this subject the following year, hence the book. No, actually it was recommended. You'd be surprised how even lecturers turn to books for Dummies. So whats the point of text books? We dont need academics to write lenghty books, we need smarties who can come up with a short-cuts. Its all about passing exams & getting over with, isnt it?
Just the thought of this subject gives me goosebumps. One I'll never fully comprehend.

This has to go. someone, anyone?

Lava Lamp

I wanted a lava lamp so badly in my life. I see people having them in TV shows and I thought that was the coolest thing to have beside your bed. I was wanting that for close to 10 years until my birthday last year I decided to buy myself one. Not quite the exact one I had in mind though But it does the job. It sets the exact kind of atmosphere I wanted on my birthday :)
Wjean has always wanted one so badly too and I managed to convince her to get one in the end. Now its YOUR TURN, except that you get this for so much cheaper because Im awesome. Im sucha manipulative girl arent I. yeaa..No Im not.

I think she's gonna kill me.

Folder

I did so badly at Uni one year that I decided I was gonna start anew. To begin my new resolution of being a hardworking and studious student, I thought it is only right to get a new folder, I thought this was attractive and huge so I could file all my notes just like all my other classmates. Even if its just for the sake of carrying it to look intelligent. Well It didnt happen.

Maybe I can help you with your resolution this time?

Candles

So I threw a birthday bash. well not a bash really, more like a party that turned out pretty princessy-like which is really unlike me. Anyway, I got everyone to bring a candle each so we could light up the whole house.. It turned out pretty cosy & romantic~ These are leftover candles I bought and never got around using it til today....

Candles remind me of 3 people. Leech, Mk and Rachel. Leech has candles everywhere in her room and it smells like fragrant candles. Mk, carved a rose-pattern candle when we were 11 years old & gave me as a friendship present. Dene lit candles all around Rach's room and surprised her with a proposal...:)

If there was one thing that is unlikely to go wrong, they are candles ~

ps: You can also use them to get rid of houseflies.

Now why would I buy recipe books. Those who knows me well know that I hate instructions/manuals and that means I dont like looking at a recipe to cook. Though dont get me wrong I LOVE cooking. I go by instinct most of the time. That's how I like it. ;) Anyway, mom thought Id starve the first few years in Aussie bcuz I cant cook and so she insisted that i have this and she sent it by courier all the way from Msia... zZzz.......
Anyway, ran out of idea on what to cook for FOCUS biblestudies?

Hair straightener

'Why do you need a hair straightener when your hair's so straight??"
The first reaction from an Aussie friend/person whenever I talk about getting a good hair straightener. Ok..
Myth: I have straight hair.
Truth: I have curly hair. ok no, I dont have curly hair. My hair is kinda wavy thanks to my dad in a good way. though id love to have super straight hair sometimes especially when Im goin out on a date, not like I have much to go to..Sorry I digress. but yeah, A hair straightener is multi-purpose! Apparently you can use a straightener to curl hair too. Lawz has a friend who can teach you. Ask him! Meanwhile, will you consider buying this? ;)

Scarf

Surprise.. surprise.. who ever thought Im a scarf-type person. Fun fact: Im so into scarf! I used to watch TVB HK drama series when I was young and those HK actors always wear scarf to work and I thought to myself, 'man... scarf looks so cool on asians too!!' I was 14 during my visit to HongKong & I spotted a scarf and went gaga so I bought myself a pink one and i actually kept it for 5 years until I got the chance to flaunt it in Aussie because we have no winter in Malaysia grrr... Anyway, that's not for sale unfortunately. Firsts always stays.
Anyway, I have a tendency to look and grab some everynow and then, only to realise I dont wear them in the end, cuz I personally dont think it looked good on me. As time goes, I learnt to only just look at them..........

Selling Price: AUD $2 each

notice board

4 and a half years now. hmm.. how time flies. I carried this in my luggage all the way from Malaysia 4 and a half years ago, all excited to decorate my new room and that includes putting this up. Pretty determined to put up reminders and post it notes. As you can see, I end up filling it with junk each year minus the pink-paper-rose Adriel made me because he's cheapskate. hehe jk.
Its awesome okay! Who can make paper-rose hands up? Ah..,see... no one.

Blue is still my favourite colour :)

Selling price: AUD $4

Wool (maybe not)

I was first introduced to knitting during my first winter in Aussie by a lovely pastor's wife. Her name is Elaine. It looks as easy as you'd think. I was so determined to knit my first scarf and knit I did. What went on like forever I end up with not even a quarter of the length. Hardly a size of a handkerchief. Doesnt help when each time my needle slip off, I'd have to start all over again. Patience. one of the most important qualities expected of us, especially of a woman. Wanna know how much you fall short? Try knitting.

ps: I managed a scarf finally, though Im still waiting for someone to tie the ends for me :)

Selling price: AUD$ 3

Percussion (Bells)

Something so random I bought while we were at one of the Focus camps held. Was it Dungog?.. I remember how we wanted to have a really lively band for worship so we decided we needed some percussions to go with and I was particularly attracted to this one. It was smiling at me and its lime green! :)

'smiggle' texters

Im a big fan of stationaries. I cant seem to stop looking at them. I should be turning to shoes by now, but that hasnt happened, not just yet. 'Smiggle' kept me busy for a while in Aus.
Colours, they never fail to fascinate me.

Flask aka Thermos

Im a lover of ice. Ice cubes that is. Despite that, I have an odd habit instilled in me since young that is to have a gulp of warm water the first thing I wake up in the morning, or in the middle of the night when Im cold.. Since coming to Australia, Im slowly losing this habit. I cant be bothered to wake up, go to the kitchen and boil and then wait for the water to warm up. 2 years later, my mom got me this. I love warm water, they give comfort to my stomach in the cold, the kind of comfort only mummys can give. In this faithful thermos I keep my warm water. I keep my comfort from home.

Acoustic guitar (YamahaF310)

Yes. Probably the hardest one to part with. This guitar has been with me for a couple of years now? We've spent a good one year together here in Newie, unfortunately I can't take her home with me. We've written a couple of new songs & been through together quite a bit. Good times.
